MCBAIN — McBain High School staff member Gary Vana accompanied 41 students earlier this month on their annual senior trip.
“We had 41 seniors on the trip,” Vana said. “On Monday we went to Philadelphia to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and a carriage ride through old town Philly. The kids had lunch at a reading terminal market, which is the top destination of foodies in Philadelphia). That afternoon we went to Wilmington, Delaware, and rented out a jump park with American ninja course.”

The class stayed that night by the university of Delaware.

“On Tuesday we made it into DC,” Vana said. “We started off with a tour of the library of congress, which was new this year and spent the afternoon at the national zoo. That evening we took a dinner dance cruise on the Potomac River. “On Wednesday we visited Mount Vernon in the morning and the holocaust museum in the afternoon. That evening everybody rode segways while touring the city. Thursday we packed to leave. We started the day at Arlington national cemetery, where we watched the changing of the guard, saw JFK’s eternal flame and visited General Lee’s home.”

Vana added that the afternoon was spent visiting the Smithsonian museums, with the most popular sites being the air and space, natural history, American history and the national archives.”
