A Tustin woman was seriously injured Monday in an accident at the corner of North Bringold and M-61.

A Tustin woman, Haley Elkins, 23, was seriously injured Monday in a two vehicle crash at M-61 and Bringold Avenue.

According to a release from Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski, Elkins was northbound on North Bringold Avenue in Greenwood Township May 23 when she ran the stop sign at M-61.

Her Mitsubishi Galant was hit by an east bound silver Chevrolet Silverado driven by Adam Southwick, 31 of Marion. Southwick was pulling a trailer.

Elkins was air lifted by the Grand Rapids area hospital, the release said.

Southwick received only minor injuries and was released at the scene.

Agencies assisting the CCSD at the scene included Mobile Medical Response Ambulance Service, Harrison Fire Department and AeroMed.

The accident remains under investigation.
