Two men from Leroy; Nathan Wanstead, 32, and Nathan Wheelock, 19, were arrested around 1 a.m. Monday after Clare County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the GMC Sierra pickup they were in for not having taillights.

Officers soon discovered that the two men had just stolen the trailer they were hauling which was loaded with a Kubota Tractor and a Honda ATV.

Both Wanstead and Wheelock were arraigned later that day by 80th District Court Magistrate Karen Willing. The Clare County Prosecutor’s Office charged the men with two counts of Motor Vehicle – Unlawful Driving Away.

Willing set Wanstead’s bond at $7,500/ten percent and Wheelock’s bond was set at $7,000/ten percent.
Both men remain lodged in the Clare County Jail.
