Evart Police Report – Weeks of Oct. 17-30

Oct. 18:  Larceny – Officers responded to a larceny complaint.  The case remains under investigation.

Oct. 18: Soliciting – Officers responded to a complaint of solicitation.  The suspect was advised that they would be cited for any further solicitation.

Oct. 18: Check Well Being – Officers responded to a complaint of an Adult Foster Care resident who walked away from their facility.  The resident was located and returned home.

Oct. 19: Suspicious Situation – Officers were dispatched to a suspicious situation/911 hang up.  The matter was found to be a civil dispute that was settled without further incident.

Oct. 20: Domestic Dispute – Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a domestic dispute/The complaint was investigated and the parties were allowed to go their separate ways.

Oct. 21:  Retail Fraud – Officers responded to a complaint of retail fraud.  Upon investigating the matter it was determined to be unfounded.

Oct. 21: Civil Dispute – Officers responded to a civil dispute regarding residency.  The case remains open at this time.

Oct. 21:       Civil Standby – Officers were requested to perform a stand-by for a child custody exchange. 

Oct. 21:     Area Check – Officers were dispatched to investigate a complaint of people jumping out in front of cars.  No suspects were located. 

Oct. 24: Breaking and Entering. Officers responded to a complaint of breaking and entering. The case remains open at this time.

Oct. 25: Suspicious Situation. Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious situation involving a missing kayak. The kayak was later located by the owner.

Oct. 25: Misdemeanor Arrest. While on patrol, officers made contact with an individual with outstanding warrants. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Osceola County Jail where they were lodged on their warrants.

Oct. 26: Fraud. Officers were dispatched to a fraud complaint involving unemployment benefit misrepresentation. The case remains open at this time. 

Oct. 26: Found Property. Five hunting licenses were found and turned over to the Evart Police Department.  The property was returned to its owner.

Oct. 28: Civil – Officers responded to a civil complaint between two individuals.  The persons involved were found to be secure and not in need of any services.

Oct. 28: Dispute – Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a domestic dispute.  The parties involved agreed to no further contact with each other for the remainder of the day.

Oct. 28: Assault — Assist Michigan State Police – Officers were dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a complaint of a domestic assault.

Oct. 29: Runaway – Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a runaway.  The subject was located and transported back to their residence.

Oct. 29: Trespassing – Officers were dispatched to complaint of a trespassing violation.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Osceola County Jail where they were lodged on charges.

Oct. 29: Suspicious Person – Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious person. The situation was investigated but no suspects were located.

Oct. 29: Noise – Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint.  The offenders were advised to reduce the noise level to which they agreed.

Oct. 30: Suicidal Subject – Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a possible suicidal subject.  The individual was found to be secure and not in need of any services.
