Paul Vigiano, 46, of Macomb County, has been charged by the Clare County Prosecutor’s Office for threatening a horseback rider with a gun Saturday afternoon.

A release from Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski said Central Dispatch was notified around 5:32 p.m. October 29 that a man had pulled a gun on four people riding horses in Winterfield Township, Clare County.

The release said Vigiano, who was in a vehicle, allegedly stopped the riders and got into an argument with them about trespassing. During the argument, he reportedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Genine Hayden, one of the riders.

Deputies arrested Vigiano for felonious assault and brandishing a firearm in public.

Hayden was not injured during the incident and Vigiano was taken to the Clare County Jail.

He posted a $5,000 cash bond on October 30 and was released from jail.

He was arraigned Tuesday, November 1 by Magistrate Karen Moore and waived reading of the charges and his rights. A Probable Cause conference has been set for a later date.

He remains free on bond.
