The weather is forecast to be seasonable on Saturday afternoon and evening, with perhaps a bit of snow in the air to welcome Santa on his first visit to Marion this Christmas season.

Festivities begin at the Marion Eagles with Kids Crafts from 5:30-6:30pm. Immediately following all are welcome at the Veteran’s Pavilion next to the Middle Branch on south Mill Street for hot dogs and hot chocolate provided by the Marion Chamber of Commerce. A Christmas carol sing-a-long with music provided by Sandy Merrifield and Tim Michell may be enjoyed under the pavilion.

The newly refurbished Village Nativity is now on display in Marion.

The lighting of the Village Christmas tree and Santa’s arrival will be at 7pm. The newly refurbished Village Nativity was placed earlier this week and along with the tree is the centerpiece of Marion’s Christmas display.

Memorial Luminaries on the river walk will be lit all evening.
