It will be back to school next week for Marion School students after a near two-week holiday break.

Diana Salisbury, administrative assistant, pointed out classes dismissed on Dec. 21 and return on Jan. 3.

Usually, districts take two full weeks off for Christmas break. But with Christmas and New Year’s Day being on Sundays the schedule was different this year, Salisbury noted.

“It just depends on when it falls,” she said.

During the two-week period, there still is some personnel working.

“We have our superintendents office work here and our custodians work, that’s their catchup days,” Salisbury said, while indicating no one is around on Dec. 25 and Jan. 2, the two Mondays after the holidays. When holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday I normally recognized as a holiday.

Dec. 21 and Jan. 3 are full days, Salisbury added.

When Jan. 3 comes, it will be back to business with administrators and school personnel keeping an eye on weather and road conditions in the event of any type of major snowstorms during the winter months.
