The Marion Athletic Boosters are still looking for a victory bell for Marion sports.
At the recent boosters meeting, booster Becky Johnson reported she is still looking for bell and $450 is the estimated cost. Field stone will be donated, it was added, while the boosters are still gathering estimates on concrete.
It was also reported 38 boys track uniforms have been purchased at a cost of $1,200. The basketball games’ 50/50s made $198 during basketball season. Also the pole vault cover is being sewn by a Saginaw company for between $250 and $300.
It was mentioned that June 5-9 would be the best dates for the school to have sports physicals. More information will be provided later.
It was decided to get estimates for senior sports certificates. Shana Stahl will be getting the estimates and will start the process of obtaining names for the certificates.
The board was planning on having a brainstorming session at its March meeting for a fall fundraiser.
It was decided during Old Fashioned Days to give away leftover decals and license place holders with family passes.
Softball coach Ryan Pace asked for money to purchase two used bats for $150 apiece plus catching gear including a chest protector and shin pads. The boosters approved providing up to $400 for the items and suggested asking the baseball team if it needs anything that could be purchased at the same time to save money.
The boosters also voted to donate $1,500 for new softballs and operating costs.
