The season isn’t quite over yet for Rambler Robotics.

Coach Dani Utecht’s squad at McBain High School was at the state meet last week, hosted by Saginaw State University. The Ramblers did well enough to qualify for the Worlds Event April 26-28.

Competition is in St. Louis, Mo.

“We are leaving Tuesday after school,” Utecht said. “We plan on visiting the Gateway Arch and the Science Center while there.”

The Ramblers team #6066 qualified for the Worlds Event competition in St. Louis, MO on April 26-28.

It’s a second year team and Utecht has 25 team members.“We raised money for last minute qualification for State competition then qualified for Worlds – formally called the First Robotics Championship,” she said. “At States we were as high as fifth and ended up eighth in our region. We lost in the quarterfinals. Michigan has almost 500 teams, by far the most of any state and more than most of the rest of the world. We are allowed to send 80 teams to the FIRST Championship. After all was said and done with the point calculations for the entire season, we ended up 74th in the state. Cadillac was 75th.”

McBain has organized a car wash and pop can drive for Saturday 1:30-5:30 p. m.at McBain Public Library.

Donations are welcome. Checks can be made out to McBain School with Rambler Robotics in the memo.
