McBain put up a good fight in the second game, but the Rambler baseball team still dropped both ends of its non-league doubleheader at Kalkaska on Wednesday, April 19. The Blazers came out on top with scores of 15-0 and 3-2.

“We just didn’t come to play at t he beginning and we had lots of errors and they really hit the ball,” head coach Chad Grundy said.

In the much closer game two, Ezra Cotter took the loss in his three and two-third innings of work. He allowed two earned runs and also struck out four. Chase Pylkas had a strong relief pitching performance as well.

For the offense, Logan Taylor had a single and an RBI, Devin Morris, Drew Boven, Cotter and Andrew Sikkema chipped in one hit each.

McBain hosted Cadillac on Thursday, plays in the Hillman tournament on Saturday, heads to Forest Area on Monday and hosts Pine River Tuesday.
