The Osceola County Board of Commissioners, at its Tuesday meeting, approved the Commission on Aging Community Space Agreement for the Evart facility.

The agreement concerns use of the building by others.

“They have to have liability. We want to make sure everything is taken care of,” commission chairman Larry Emig said, “and things are left in the condition it was started in, that type of agreement. It’s just to keep the building in good shape. It was more of an release agreement.”

The commissioners also approved the EMS Letter of Student expectations 2017.

“It’s guidelines for students studying to be paramedics who are eligible to ride along in the ambulance,” Emig said. “It was an amendment to an existing agreement. It clarifies existing protocol

The commission approved the Medical Examiner Office two proposed trainings for Lisa Kasparisk and authorized out of state travel.

“She usually has a workshop and this is an additional one this year that specializes in some forensics training that the federal government is indicating they want medical examiners to be compliant with,” Emig said. “This is one step toward acquiring the certifications for that compliance.”

Emig said the COA Marion building “is coming along. There’s been a few delays on things that were ordered. The most recent delays were things they ordered for the kitchen. We’re hoping things will be complete and we can move in the first of June. We’re hoping our second meeting in June we can be out there. We’ll know by the first meeting in June.”
