The Osceola County Commissioners Health, Safety and Grounds committee has set a meeting for 4 p.m. on Monday at the Board of Commissioners room.

The agenda includes discussing courtroom and court office security enhancements with Osceola County judges and Bob Van Putten of Landmark Design Group. There will also be discussion for general security timers for county buildings and offices.

“They’ve met with the judges and that was a good meeting,” commission chairman Larry Emig said. “I’m hearing they’re feeling they may come to the board in the near future with some questions and recommendations.”

Jack Nehmer of Marion is on the committee.

“We need to review what we’ve tried to get done and see how the judges feel about it before we make any type of recommendation to the board.”

Nehmer also noted the Commission on Aging Building in Marion will not be opening this month, as what had been originally anticipated. “They don’t seem to be moving as the COA director thought they would on the building. It looks to me as I had originally thought that it won’t be open until probably the first of June.

“If it gets open we’ll have our (commission meeting) on June 20 up here.”
