Council seeks roadwork input

Marion Village Council president Don Gilmore looks back at the previous winters and marvels how well his municipality was able to enter the spring season in a positive way.

The relatively mild winter, Gilmore recalls, allowed the village to get through with hardly any weather related problems. Frozen water pipes wasn’t much of a problem at all, Gilmore recalls, as compared to past year. It would seem that some residences might experience such problems in past years. That didn’t seem to be the case this year Gilmore indicated.

But now, the council will focus on other things including summer road work, Gilmore indicated. The council hopes to take a look at roadwork and make some decisions. But he indicated the specific projects that will take place has yet to be decided.
“Anybody interested could come to our next meeting,” he said, pointing to June 5, the next council monthly meeting.
Residences concerned about local roadwork and wanting to express their views to the council will have a chance at this particular meeting, Gilmore said.

Meanwhile the council and village residents will prepare for the Marion Fair and other summertime celebrations to increase activities in the area during the summer months.
