It’s going to be a busy holiday week at Evart starting with Fourth of July activities.

“We’ve got a number of things going on,” Evart Downtown Development Authority president Al Weinberg said.

It starts on Saturday with You’ve Got a Friend at 7 p.m., featuring the music of Carol King and James Taylor with Kristi Manna and Jonathan Birchfield at the Evart Depot.

The Evart Farmer’s Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.

The fireworks are at dusk at the Evart airport on July 3.

“They’re the best around,” Weinert said.

The Evart 5K Run and walk is at the high school 9 a.m. on July 4, followed by the parade on Main Street at 11 a.m. and party in the park noon to 3 p.m.

The party in the park at Riverside Park west will include the mechanical bull and mechanical surf board and chicken BBQ by Lions Club, plus the giant slip and slide by the Evart Fire Department. There will be pony rides and a rubber duck race.

“Its kind of a typical Fourth of July,” Weinberg said. “The concert by the depot, we’re not at the fairgrounds. It’s a good four-day celebration.”
