Osceola County prosecutor Tony Badovinac announced on June 23 that Brookelle Richards, 21, pled guilty to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which are two seven -year felonies.

Her pleas were stemming from an incident in May 2015  in Marion, Badovinac said, when Jacob Alberts was given drugs by.
Richards and he later died of a broken neck from falling, after suffering hallucinogenic effects from the drug.

Badovinac said Richards was sentenced to 8½ months in jail and placed on probation for three years.

A Marion Press article at the time of the incident states a 21-year-old Marion man (Alberts) fell to his death after ingesting a synthetic drug he was provided at a party at a Marion Township residence.

Troopers responded to a 911 call to the Marion Township residence at approximately 12:45 a.m. where they found the deceased.
Their investigation revealed the man had exited the residence under the influence of a drug, had stripped away his clothing, ran away and broke through a glass door of a neighboring residence.

The man then exited the glass door he smashed into, the article said. Injured with glass cuts, he returned to the location of the party where he jumped from a second story stairway. Police report injuries from the fall ended his life, the article continued.
