The Marion Village Council, at its monthly meeting on Monday, approved having Wi-fi installed at the Veteran’s Memorial Village Park.

“That’s going to be done so it will be ready for next year when we start,” village clerk Marsha Turner said.

The council also voted on changing speed limits on Main Street from east to west village limits to 35 miles per hour.
“One sign says 20, one said 35 and one says 40 and one says 25,” Turner. “It will be 35 now.”

Roger Pritchard, a council trustee, has been leading a committee on the spillway project which has been moved along by the Department of Environmental Quality.

“They have published the permit application for comment,” Turner said.

Turner said there’s a medical marijuana conference in Mount Pleasant for Aug. 15.

“Some of our trustees will attend,” Turner said. “I don’t know who. But some said they would try.”
