City of Evart recognized by state

The City of Evart was among the municipalities recently recognized for being committed to Michigan’s Public Vocational Rehabilitations program for disabled individuals.

City of Evart Treasurer/Assessor Sarah Dvoracek and Department of Public Works Supervisor Mark Wilson attended the recent champion awards program in Lansing to accept the award from the Michigan Rehabilitation Services with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services

It was noted the city of Evart received the award in the partner category for demonstrating a strong commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to take charge of their futures.

“It’s an amazing program and it benefits everybody, not only the kids, but us as well,” Dvoracek said. “It’s a win-win situation. It’s a really cool program. Mark Wilson is the one who makes it all happen. It’s an awesome program.”  Evart was nominated for the award by Becky Curtis of Michigan Rehabilitation Services in Big Rapids.
