Road work in the area is just about wrapping up and Osceola County Commission engineer-manager Luke D. Houlton provided a list of additional projects that have been completed since his mid-September update.

Asphalt overlays have included 220th Avenue overlay from 8 Mile to 9 Mile with Lincoln Township. There’s also been a 220th Avenue overlay from 11 Mile south to the end of the existing pavement with Lincoln Township.

Another asphalt overlay has been Wild Turkey Trail Drive, with Richmond Township DDA from US-10 north to end of pavement.
With gravel projects, the township pays for gravel and road commission covers cost to haul and place. Projects include in Marion Township with 6,650 tons at various locations throughout the township. With Sherman Township, there’s been 2,800 tons at various locations.

Crack sealing, paid for by the road commission, covered 39.8 miles.

Houlton said one reconstruction project the township is working on is grade, gravel and pave 210th Avenue with Burdell Township from Hewitt Road to 20 Mile Road for a half-mile with D.J. McQuestion as contractor.

Workers need to finish seeding and painting the centerline, and Houlton said the paint crew is expected the first dry day available and seeding crew was expected early to mid next week.

There’s also coming work to crush, shape and pave James Drive and Nicholas Lane (Red Pine Subdivision) with Lincoln Township.
