New NHS members chosen

MARION — Marion High School principal Danyel Prielipp has announced the newest members of the National Honor Society were inducted on Jan. 8:

Katlin Booms, Evia Neuman, Hayle Miller, Trinity Bloss, Billy Jenema, Zane Philo, Tyler Neuman, Jon Stahl, Charles Ankney and Damien Schwab.

Prielipp added that current members of the National Honor Society put on the ceremony while family and friends watched.

“We all enjoyed desserts after the ceremony,” Prielipp said. “Their advisor is Deb LaLone.”

According to Wikepedia, NHS is a nationwide organization for high school students consisting of several chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: academic achievement, leadership, service and character The society requires some sort of service to the community school or other organizations.
