Two jailed for firing shots in McBain

Two men were arrested after shots were fired at vehicles in McBain.

In the late hours on Sunday, deputies responded to the intersection of Stoney Corners Rd and Blodgett Rd for the report of shots fired.

On scene, deputies learned a vehicle had pulled up, fired several shots into two parked vehicles, and left the area.
No one was in the vehicles at the time of the shooting, and no injuries were reported.

Deputies began investigating, and suspects were developed.

They questioned two 19 year-old men, Ethan Helsel and Levi Seelye.

Both indicated that they were involved in the shooting.

The two were arrested and lodged in the Missaukee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Deputies believe the shooting to be domestic in nature, with one of the victims having been in a relationship with one of the suspects.

Helsel and Seelye are facing several felony charges, including malicious destruction of property and transportation of a loaded firearm.
