Evart conducted a town hall meeting on Wednesday to ask for residents’ opinions on the future location of city hall.

The city closed its offices on October 2017 after tests indicated elevated levels of mold spores.

The city moved operations from the current location to the terminal at the Evart Municipal Airport.

Roger Elkins, an Osceola County commissioner, who represents Evart, said the proposed location options are the current depot building, the airport building or a new building on city-own property.

Elkins said the DDA announced the Michigan Main Street application from Evart has been approved.

“Those cities involve in this have seen some benefits for their downtown area,” Elkins said.
