Kem William Mitchell

Kem William Mitchell, age 70, of Marion, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was born on Sept. 5, 1947, in Cadillac to Kenneth Earl and Amy Ray (Corner) Mitchell. He married Shirley Ann Pluger on May 21, 1988 at Marion.

Kem worked as a lineman for Consumers Power for over 36 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting, and was active in the Marion Faternal Order of Eagles 8047.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era.He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Mitchell of Marion, two sons, Troy (Laurel) Mitchell of Manton and Trent Mitchell of Cadillac. He has two step children, Delsie Scholten of Cadillac and Lane (Nicole) Wagner of Marion. Kem has nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren along with siblings, Laura Malosh of Lake and Linda Randel of Idaho and in-laws, Carol (Jerry ) Hoekwater of Cadillac and Ken Pluger of Marion. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barb (Ron) Jones and a sister in law, Darlene (Don) Grames.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Faternal Order of Eagles 8047 in Marion with the Eagles conducting services. A luncheon will follow. Marion Blue Mt. Post 6015 will give the military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Disabled Veterans Agent Orange Fund.

    So sorry to hear of Kem’s passing
    Our families were old friends the Corner’s
    And Mitchell’s . RIP Ken
