Evart Police Report for April 2-3
April 2: Assault – Officers were called to an assault between students on the school bus.  The case remains open at this time. 
April 2: Assist CPS – Officers were called to stand-by during an interview for neglect allegations. It was determined that the case occurred outside the city and the case was turned over to the proper agency. 
April 2: Found Property – A set of El Camino keys were found and turned in to the Evart Police Department. Please call 231-734-5911 to claim these keys.
April 2: Dog at Large – Officers were called to a complaint of two dogs at large.  The dogs were returned to their home and their owner was given a verbal warning.  
April 2: Check Well Being – Officers were called to conduct a well being check on an infant. Contact was made with the child and parent. Neither was found to be in need of services. 
April 2: Assist with Prowler – Officers were called to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department in locating a possible prowler. Contact was made with a possible suspect but they were ruled out. 
April 3: Domestic Violence – Officers were dispatched to an assault in progress at a local school. The suspect was found to have fled the scene. Officers located the suspect and placed them under arrest. They were transported to the Osceola County Jail where they were lodged on charges.
April 3: Property Damage Accident – Officers were dispatched to a property damage accident. No injuries were reported. 
April 4: Civil/Custody Exchange – Officers conducted a stand-by during a custody exchange. 
April 4: Well Being Check – Officers were dispatched to conduct a well being check on a juvenile. The subject was transported to Reed City Hospital for an evaluation. 
April 4: Insufficient Funds – Officers were called to an insufficient funds check complaint for two different checks at a local business. One has been resolved and the other is still pending.  
April 5: Assist –  Officers were called to the Evart Elementary School to assist with an unruly child.  
April 5: Disorderly – Officers were dispatched for assistance in killing a spider. The caller was informed that is not a police matter and it constitutes misuse of the 911 system.  The caller was also informed that further misuse could lead to an arrest. The alleged arachnid was gone upon officer’s arrival. 
April 5: Dog at Large – While on patrol, Officers made contact with a dog at large.  The dog’s home and owner were located and a citation was issued. 
April 5: Retail Fraud – Officers were called to investigate items missing from a local business. The case remains open at this time. 
April 5: Juvenile Complaint – Officers were called to a complaint of a juvenile who had walked away from their home. The subject was located and returned to their parent. 
April 6: Private Property Damage Accident – Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on private property.  No injuries were reported. 
April 6: Attempted Suicide – Officers were dispatched to an attempted suicide.  The subject was located and transported to Reed City Hospital. 
April 6: Hit and Run Pedestrian – Officers were called to the hospital in Reed City on a complaint of a hit and run that happened at the Evart Elementary School. The juvenile advised that they were struck by a vehicle that went around the buses on to the sidewalk.  The case is under investigation.
April 7: Larceny – Officers took a complaint of a dog that was taken out of a vehicle.  The dog was later located and returned to its owner. 
April 8: Assault – Officers responded to a report of an assault. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
