Lady Eagles rack up two more wins

Marion continued its strong start to the softball season on Tuesday, as it had no problem handling visiting Brethren in a non-league twinbill. The Lady Eagles won by scores of 17-1 and 8-0.

Getting the win in game one was Payton Raymond as she gave up just one hit and struck out five.

Raymond helped her own cause with a triple, double and a single, Hayle Miller had three hits, Rylie Richards had two triples, Teagan Cox had a triple and a single, Hannah Hopkins had two hits and with one hit apiece was Aspen LaGrow, Bree Nolan, Allison Deboer and Riley Kischnick.

Getting the win in game two was Richards, as the managed to strike out five batters.

Miller had two hits, Cox had two hits and two RBIs, Hopkins had two hits and four RBIs and LaGrow tacked on a hit.

Marion (12-2 overall) hosts Manton today (Friday) and heads to Evart on Tuesday.
