MARION — Marion Community fire department chief David Turner said his department is in the midst of adding equipment to its current fleet.

“We’re working on our grass wildland unit and it should be operational by the end of July,” he said. “It’s a refurbished truck with new fire apparatus equipment on it. We’re looking at replacing a truck. We’re able to obtain another truck from the federal government and we’re looking at swapping one of our older vehicles. But that’s going to take some work and probably won’t be ready until next spring.”
