The crops are planted, schools out and tourist season is in full swing which means it’s time to get the whole family together and come out to the 79th Annual Marion Fair June 17 – 23 at the Marion Fairgrounds / Veterans Memorial Park.

In todays virtual reality world filled with all kinds of gadgets and on-line entertainment people often forget there is life beyond these toys especially in the great outdoors where old fashioned events like the Marion Fair can still be found and enjoyed at very affordable prices. Leave your gizmos behind, shut your cell phones off and come to the Marion Fair next week.

After a one-year absence the midway returned in 2017 with Schmidt Amusements of Standish, Mich., filling the grounds with fun and exciting rides for all ages. The midway opens at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday and continues to the close of the fair Saturday night June 23rd. Not into rides or games? You can still come and enjoy the grandstand events, support area 4-Hers and check out the many exhibits.

The smell of cotton candy, fresh popcorn, hotdogs filling the air, seeing old friends, supporting the fair and area youth is what the Marion Fair is all about.
