REED CITY — The Osceola County Board of Commissioners’ Health Safety and Grounds Committee met earlier this month and took action on several items.

Two of the committee members are Jack Nehmer of Marion and Roger Elkins of Evart.

The committee listened to a presentation from maintenance working supervisor Brad Halladay on the northeast driveway of the annex building project. He received two proposals on fixing the driveway area for waste drainage and resurfacing or replacement.

It was decided to have Quality Concrete Construction replace the northeast driveway with concrete, which would include drainage for $12,800. The money will come from the money transferred from the appropriation in the 245 fund, 901 department from the air conditioning allocation.

Information was provided by Halladay and Susan Vander Pol, county coordinator, on building changes and security implementation, which has been completed since the last committee gathering. The MSU extension office is finished and the parks’ community, developer office, is set to be transitioned with greater security.

The committee also looked at information on adding additional space at the main courthouse entrance for security equipment and staff. Vander Pol said she would gather additional information on door security systems and options for the new VOIP phone system.

The committee’s next meeting will be at noon on Sept. 5.
