The Missaukee County Commission on Aging director Natalie Davis is getting ready for a busy month.

The “Think Snow in the Summer” program is active, Davis said.

“We are actively accepting clients for that program beginning next week,” she added. “They would need to make an appointment with Shannon (Scarbrough). People can start signing up for that program. It’s our snow removal assistance program.”

Interested persons can call (231) 839-7839.

“It’s a fee-based program, but it pays for the whole season of plowing through the end of March, beginning in December,”
Davis said. “For more program information, they can contact Shannon. We also have a Senior Project Fresh sign up on Aug. 16. They would need to call to schedule an appointment for that, as well.

“Anyone interested in being a driver for our transportation program can call Shannon,” Davis said. “We are definitely looking for volunteers. They are reimbursed for their mileage. It helps our seniors who are unable to make the drive for their medical appointments. It provides a little bit of friendship for them. If people are in need of transportation, we’d love for them to give us a call.”
