McBain millage renewal passes

Voters in Missaukee County approved various proposals during Tuesday’s state primary.

Voters approved 9-1-1 millage by a 2,074-1,541 vote. It was 2,427-1,186 in favor of senior services and 2,040-1,559 for conservation millage. Fire protection millage passed in Forest, Norwich, Pioneer, Richland, Riverside, West Branch, Aetna and Clam Union townships. Road millage passed in Norwich, Bloomfield and Butterfield Townships.

Operating millage passed in Lake City and McBain school districts.

For governor, Missaukee voters favored Bill Schuette for GOP and Gretchen Whitmer for Democrat. Sandy Pensler for GOP and Debbie Stabenow for Democrat won for U.S. senator. John Mollenar (GOP) and Jerry Hilliard (Democrat) were the picks for the U.S. congressional fourth district. Missaukee voters approved Bruce Rendon for state senator and Daire Rendon for state rep 103rd district on the Republican side. The Democrat nods went to Talliard for state senator and Steve Loomis for Democrat.
