Stewart Anson Williams I

Stewart Anson Williams I, age 82, has passed away at his home in Marion, Michigan on Monday, September 24th at 8pm, with his children and grandchildren at his bedside.  

Stewart, born in Marion on December 24th 1935 lived a full life doing what he loved best.  He was a graduate of Marion High School in the class of 1954, and left to see the world with the Army for a few years after high school.  When he returned from the service he settled down with Kathryn Turner and had three daughters Lynna, Laura, and Lisa.  Later on in life he married Josephine Serafano and had a son Stewart.  He was a member of the Rod and Gun club and the VFW.  Stewart was an avid outdoorsman, and was well known around the area for fishing, trapping, and hunting.  Through out his life he had several jobs and spent time as a park ranger, a Harvestore builder, a machinist, and a general maintenance man.  There wasn’t anything he could not fix.

Stewart lived and died in the town that he loved and that his family helped pioneer.  He was found daily drinking coffee with the rest of the old timers when he wasn’t driving around the mill pond or looking for new spots to trap.  He was as known for his sense of humor and quick wit and whistle in his voice as well as his good honest nature and willing to help anyone who needed it.

Stewart was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Williams and Son-in-Law, Marty Sembach and is survived by his three daughters, Lynna Eising, Laura Ault, and Lisa Sembach as well as his son Stewart Anson Williams II in addition to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those who knew him, knew that he was a simple hardworking man with modest needs.  He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and the things he built.  He never needed recognition or attention all he needed was a shop to tinker in and spot of water to drown a worm.  

Viewing was held at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home on Thursday September 27, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and funeral services took place on Friday, September 28th at 2pm, also at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home in Marion.
