The Marion Schools had an emphasis on antibullying last week, superintendent Chris Arrington said.

“It was for stopping all bullying,” Arrington said. “It’s for all our kids. You know like wearing pink is for (cancer awareness). Orange is against bullying. Hopefully we’ll get a bunch of kids dressed in orange.”

There was also scheduled to be a Michigan Virtual University event at Marion Arrington said, with a 90-minute presentation on different programs available to high school students. Michigan Virtual’s website notes it offers a wide variety of educational opportunities including online learning for middle and high school students, and face-to-face, blended and online learning opportunities for educators.

Arrington said he secured a grant through the YMCA on a Safety Around Water program.

“Our fourth graders will get to go to the YMCA and learn water safety,” Arrington said.
