Welcome to the new year! Parish management asked me to use this article to announce a couple of events that are happening at St. Cecilia Church in the new year. Already under way is a monthly community dinner that is happening the second Monday of each month. This free community meal is offered from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are encouraged to come for some food, fun, and fellowship.

Daniel Fachting, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist, Lay Minister at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare, and Chancellor for Knights of Columbus Council #3029. He can be reached at fachtingcounseling1@gmail.com or by calling (989) 386-8166.

Also, Our Lady of Hope is planning a twice monthly community Senior Social Activities program for those in the community who are seeking a fun time for a healthier mind and body.

All are invited to the St. Cecilia parish hall on the first and third Friday of each month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The first gathering is January 4th. Bring a sack lunch and enjoy a few hours of fun and fellowship. Some of the activities planned are puzzles, card games, talking needles, chair exercises, dominos, and a special carving demonstration by Dick Roe. While both of the above mentioned activities are free, if you can help out in any way it is greatly appreciated.

Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia site, is located at 106 E. Wheaton Avenue in Clare. The office phone number is (989) 386-9862. The parish website is www.olhclare.org. Masses are celebrated Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Friday at 9:00 am, first Saturday at 8:30 am, Saturday at 4:30 pm and Sunday at 8:00 am and 11:00 am. The Sacraments of Baptism, Matrimony, Anointing the Sick are offered. Those seeking these sacraments need to call the office. The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) is offered one half hour before weekend masses or by appointment.

Those interested in communal praying of the rosary are invited to gather in the church onehalf hour before mass. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is celebrated after the weekday masses on Tuesday and Friday throughout the year. Those interested in learning more about living the Christian life are invited to religious education classes and activities between the masses on Sunday morning. All ages are invited.

May the Lord bless and keep you. May he let his face shine upon you and give you his peace!
