It’s definitely not a slow time of year at the Missaukee District Library, as far as director Laura Marion is concerned.

“All the Mondays in January, we are having knitters night (5-7 p.m.),” Marion said. “If they don’t know how to knit, and want to come, they can still come. It’s just in January for now.”

Battle of the Books will kick off this Saturday for grades fourth through sixth, starting at 11 a.m. in the McBain Library.
“It’s kind of like a game show where they read books and we ask questions in kind of game show style,” Marion said. “We always have (piano music on) Thursdays at 2 p.m. with George Gruenberg. It’s a wonderful way to spend your afternoon. And it’s always for an hour.”

Storytime takes place on Fridays, starting at 10 a.m.

“There’s stories and activities there,” Marion said.

There’s also Lego Club the first Tuesday of each month, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
