James Frank McClung

James was born on December 9, 1928 in the home of his parents Frank and Lela (Kipp) McClung in Highland Township, Marion, Michigan. He was a dairy farmer all of his life.
James answered the call of duty serving in the U.S. Army in Manneheim, Germany during the Korean War from January 1951 to December 1952. He attended Lake Superior State College after he came home from the service, for a year to study draftsmanship. He also spent time working with his dad surveying. James enjoyed gardening, watching the Detroit Lions football games on TV, driving his John Deere tractors and listening to country music.

He struggled with dementia for the past four years. James would often tell people about his farming days and his time spent in the service. He gave his life over to the Lord four years ago. Heaven is rejoicing for his home coming.

James is survived by his two children, Paul (Susan) McClung of Marion and Marie McClung of Yorba Linda, California; grandchildren, Paul McClung II of Roscommon, Katie McClung of Marion, Katarina (fiancé Nick Pizzo) Decker of Las Vegas, NV and Gabriella Decker of Yorba Linda, VA; sisters-in-law, Nancy McClung of Marion, Bertha McClung of Pelkie, MI, and Maxine Galle of Cedar Springs, MI; brother-in-law, Robert Galle of Cedar Springs, MI; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; brothers, Samuel McClung and Matthew McClung; sister, Sarah Wich; infant brother, Ernie McClung; sisters-in-law, Marlene McClung, Marian McClung and Kris Galle; and brother-in-law, Richard Galle.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
