In 1959 he met and fell in love with Cynthia Caswell and on August 29, 1959 they were married at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan.

Chet loved teaching. He was strict but fair, always wanting his students to be the best they could be. To his children he was kind and gentle. Chet loved his family and was proud of his children.  He loved his sons and daughters-in-law and couldn’t have loved his grandchildren more. And above all he loved his wife; he was her rock and foundation. Fishing and watching MSU Spartans and Detroit Tiger games were his passion. Everyone loved his homemade wine. Anticipating planting his annual garden Chet had already set his tomato plants under a grow light in his house.
