Marion three receive competitive cheer honors

MARION — It was another enjoyable season for the Marion competitive cheer team.

The squad was coached by Danyel Prielipp, who is also Marion junior and senior high school principal.

Prielipp said Hayle Miller, Riley Kischnick and Payton Raymond received all-district awards.

Riley Kischnick received an individual academic all state award, for having an individual GPA of over 3.8, Prielipp said, adding the entire team received a team academic all state award for having a combined GPA of over 3.0.

Members of the team were:

Seniors: Hayle Miller, MaKaila Bivins.

Juniors:  Alyssa Thompson, Riley Kischnick,

Sophomores: Payton Raymond, Carol Somers, Bree Nolan, Hope Hofacker, Lexi Bain

The Marion girls perform in three different rounds at each meet. The first round includes motions and jumps. The second round is all about precision, tumbling, jumping.
