Lady Ramblers score twinbill win

The McBain softball team closed out the regular season with a pair of solid wins on Wednesday, May 22. The Lady Ramblers, hosting Harrison in a pair of non-league battles, picked up wins by scores of 8-6 and 15-5.

Getting the win in game one was McKenna Gilde. She gave up five earned runs on 10 hits, 11 strikeouts and three walks.

The offense was sparked by Gilde as well. She had five hits, which included a home run and two RBI. Emma Boonstra had three hits, Isabella Gandolfi had two hits and an RBI, Mikayla Pluger had two this and two RBI, Megan Taylor added two hits, Kayda Cotter had a hit and an RBI and Gracie Brunink had a single.

It was another Pluger win in the nightcap. She gave up five runs, three earned on eight hits, two strikeouts and three walks.

Leading the offense was Boobstra with two hits and four RBI, Mya Eisenga had two hits and one RBI, Vandenbos had two hits and an RBI, Madeline Maloney and Brunink had a hit and an RBI each, Gandolfi had a hit and two RBI, Pluger was good for a hit and an RBI and Gilde and Morgan Eisenga added a single apiece.

McBain played Manton in its division three pre-district game on Wednesday, in Lake City. The rest of the tournament takes place on Saturday.
