Lady Ramblers sweep Lake City

The McBain softball team found itself on the winning side of things Tuesday night. The Lady Ramblers were serving as hosts in a pair of Highland Conference games, claiming 10-1 and 7-6 victories.

The game one winner was McKenna Gilde, she gave up one run, zero earned on three hits, 13 strikeouts and two walks.

Gracie Brunink had a key two-RBI triple, Gilde added a double, single and two RBI, Paige Vandenbos had three hits and one RBI, Mikayla Pluger added a double, single and two RBI, Isabella Gandolfi and Megan Taylor had two hits apiece and Mya Eisenga had a single and an RBI.

Morgan Rogers struck out three batters for Lake City in the loss.

Game two’s winning pitcher was Pluger, as she gave up six earned runs on eight hits, five strikeouts and one walk.

Gilde had a three hit and one RBI game, Vandenbos had two doubles and one RBI, Brunink had two hits, Boonstra had a double, Alexis Farr added a single and two RBI, Pluger added a single and Gandolfi had an RBI.

Lindsey Pylkas took the loss for the Lady Trojans.

McBain (10-13 overall) heads to the Reed City Invitational on Saturday, plays at Evart on Tuesday and hosts Harrison on Wednesday.
