McBain accepts bid to build Early Childhood Center

The McBain Board of Education, at its recent monthly meeting, voted to accept the bid for the Early Child Development Center by RC Hendrick.

“These bids are to build the Early Childhood Development Center/Preschool,” McBain superintendent Steve Prissel said. “This project is made possible by a donation from a local donor.”

The board also approved the 2019-2020 school calendar as presented.
“We will start again before Labor Day,” Prissel said. “The first student day is August 21.”

The board accepted the retirement of Kathy McCauliff effective on June 30, 2019. She is the middle/high school English teacher.

Board members also accepted the retirement of Ingrid Herweyer effective on June 30, 2019. She is the high school’s special education teacher.The board also voted to hire Dawn VerBerkmoes as JV volleyball coach.

Also approved was a motion to appoint board members Matt Kline as designated representative and Shannen Smith as an alternate representative to represent the district for the ISD Biennial election to be held on June 3, 2019.
