The McBain and McBain Northern Michigan Christian golf teams hit the links at Eagle Glen Golf Course in Farwell on Tuesday. In what was a Mid-Michigan Golf Conference meet, Farwell took first out of the three squads with a 187, McBain took second thanks to tiebreaker at 215, with NMC also carding a 215.

Leading the Ramblers was Kaleb Keathley with a 47, Drew Vana came in with a 50, Tucker Vandervelde shot a 58 and Isaac Culp hit for a 60.

The Comets had Grant Pogue hit a 52, Andrew Eisenga was good for a 53, Ben Gaffke shot a 57 and Logan Roper hit a 63.

“Matches with McBain have been close all season and it is a lot of fun to see the kids compete with each other,” NMC head coach David Skinner said. “ I’m so happy to see Ben Gaffke make it into the 50’s. He has been working hard to get there. Freshmen Logan Roper also is playing well for us and just needs more time on the course. His swing and approach is very natural, he just needs to develop the feel.”

The league championship meet is Monday in Houghton Lake.
