MARION — Marion Village Council discussed setting up the 4-H recycling trailer on the south end of the park until a permanent place is found.
Trustee Roger Pritchard said this action took place at the village council’s monthly meeting last week.

“We’re getting some new software to update our accounting services to help keep track of things,” Pritchard said. “This will make it easier for our treasurer, too.”

Also discussed was putting up a flagpole at the park.

“Afterall, it is Veterans Memorial Park,” Pritchard said. “We thought we should have an American flag flying there. There currently isn’t one.

“We talked about having a grant from Great Lakes Energy for phase one of our millpond project. They’ve given us $5,000 toward that project. We’re gaining. We’re trying to raise more money for that project.”

There’s also a new sidesycle mower for the tractor, Pritchard said “for trimming around the lagoons.”
