Deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department investigated a deer-motorcycle accident, on May 29, which resulted in a fatality.

At around 10 p.m., deputies were called to a crash on 30th Ave near 21 Mile Road in Marion Township.  The 64-year old Marion man struck a deer while operating his motorcycle, deputies reported, and concluded the collision with the deer resulted in the subject being ejected off of his motorcycle.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, said deputies, who believe speed was a factor in the crash. The man’s name was not provided.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Evart Police Department, the Marion Fire Department, and Osceola County EMS, said Undersheriff John M. Keathley.

Also, published reports from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department say a 64-year-old Sears man, Kerry Burggren, died after his tractor overturned and pinned him on Saturday. Deputies say the man was removing tree stumps at the time of the accident.
