Marion School Board President Alicia Michell said this week the board was set at its upcoming regular meeting to approve the evaluation and work on the Superintendent’s contract.

Superintendent Chris Arrington had earlier this year indicated he would be resigning in late June for family reasons and location factors. While no further details have been publicly provided, it’s believed he and the board are looking to make arrangements to have him continue as superintendent.
Arrington became superintendent last summer.

“From my perspective, things are great,” he said shortly after taking the position. “I have been welcomed with open arms by district stakeholders and ISD personnel. Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to help here.”

Michell said the board would be having a Marketing meeting earlier this week at the elementary Media Center for staff, parents community members, students and board members.

“We will be working on getting our story out that we have great opportunities and our great successes in Marion,” Michell said.
