Evart city manager Sarah Dvoracek gave a progress report this week on Riverside West Park and the splash pad, which is currently being finished.
“Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will install fencing around the splash pad with concrete pad and picnic table and a concrete sidewalk approach,” she said in a posting she made on Facebook.

The Evart city manager pointed out there have been delays to the project.
“We apologize for the delay,” Dvoracek said. “The weather has not been kind to us. We’re excited to open it in the next two weeks. We will update with specific opening and will invite the entire community to celebrate the new asset for the community.”

She said anyone is invited to call the city offices with additional questions.
Related published reports point out the splash pad is a project the city scheduled as part of its participation in the Rising Side program created by the state.

About two years ago, the city council approved a splash pad with a bid of $191,000 from Vortex. The city also spent money for the necessary infrastructure.
