Leora Jean Bell of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
A private memorial service will be held at the Athens Indian Church.

Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Osceola County, MI. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.

Leora, who often went by “Jean,” was born on July 2, 1930 to Archibald and Carlie (Lash) Wing in Tustin, MI. She had a long and full life, living in Battle Creek for the last 30 years and in Flint and in Saginaw for a short time. She loved helping people and talking to them about Jesus. She was loved by many. Jean spent many years picking up vans full of children and taking them to Sunday school. She attended the Athens Indian Church for many years until she was no longer able to go. She will be remembered and missed by many.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (Vickie) Bell of East Leroy, Dennis (Debbie) Bell of Okeechobee, FL and Richard (Sheila) Bell of Hastings; two daughters, Charlene (John) McConihay of Battle Creek and Irene (David) Smith of Thomasville, NC; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Leora was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Bell; two brothers, Calcean Wing and Merle Wing; one sister, Madeline Cox; and one son, Clayton Bell.
