Commissioners approve miicrofilming project

The Osceola County Board of Commissioners, at Tuesday’s meeting, approved the microfilming project for the Register of Deeds with US Imaging.

“We’ve done that before but that was presented by the new register of deeds,” county commissioner Roger Elkins, of Evart, said.

A public hearing was set for the USDA Ambulance remount grant for Aug. 21 at 9:15 a.m.

The board approved the purchase of a Ford Escape SE 4WD from Babb Ford Sales Inc., for the Veterans Service Department presented with payment from the veterans’ state grant.

Commissioners authorized the purchase of a copy machine for the county prosecutor’s office for $4,500 from Brady’s. The county will utilize department funds and $2,970 that will be reimbursed from the state grant.
The board also approved the child care fund project and the secondary road patrol grant.

The senior companion program memorandum of understanding was also approved.

An employment and employee delegate to the Michigan Employment Retirees service conference was approved.

The board set the anniversary date for vacation and step increases benefits for sheriff Justin Halladay of Nov 25, his original hire date. Halladay has been appointed the new COA director. He’s been with the county 23 years.
Elkins said work has started on the new budget.
