Evart Police Department Weekly News July 22-28
July 22: Officers were called to investigate a property damage accident and a private property damage accident.

July 23: Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic in progress. Upon investigating the complaint, it was learned the incident was a verbal dispute between a couple. One subject was cited for a municipal ordinance violation.  

July 23: Officers were dispatched to a larceny complaint. The report remains open pending additional investigation.

July 23: Officers were dispatched to a dog at large complaint. It was reported that the loose dog attacked another dog in the neighborhood. The owner of the loose dog received a citation for the violation. 

July 23: Officers were dispatched to a domestic assault not in progress. Officers investigated the complaint and arrested the aggressor.
July 24: Officers were dispatched to a larceny from an automobile complaint. The complaint was investigated and remains open pending additional investigation.

July 24: Officers were dispatched to a stolen vehicle complaint. The complaint was investigated and  remains open pending additional investigation.

July 24: A resident was sent a dangerous building notice for a dilapidated structure. The complaint remains open pending the removal of the structure. 

July 24: Officers were dispatched to the middle school for a broken window complaint. Upon further investigation it was determined nobody had entered the building. The report remains open at this time.

July 24: Officers received an uttering and publishing complaint from a local business. The complaint remains open pending additional investigation.

July 25: Officers received a larceny complaint. The complaint remains open pending additional investigation.

July 26: Offices stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. The driver was found to be operating the vehicle without insurance. The driver was issued an appearance citation for the violation and the vehicle was towed. 

July 26: Officers assisted the Hersey Township Fire Department with traffic control on US-10 for a garbage truck that had caught on fire on the roadway.

July 26: Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff Department with measuring an accident scene of a bicycle/vehicle injury accident.

July 26: Officers stopped an ORV for defective equipment. The driver fled on foot but was apprehended within a few blocks of the location of the traffic stop. A K9 search of the area was conducted and a large amount of narcotics were located during the search. The subject was lodged on multiple charges.
