Housing committee approves two grants totaling over $100k

LAKE CITY — Missaukee County administrator Precia Garland reported the housing committee met recently and approved two grants.

“One was in the amount of approximately $3,600 for flooring improvements to correct a trip and fall hazard for an elderly homeowner,” Garland said. “The second was a roof replacement project in the amount of approximately $6,500.”

Garland was scheduled to present several items on Thursday to the county’s finance committee for action, including an intergovernmental agreement with the land bank authority.

It will actually be an intergovernmental agreement between the Michigan Land Bank fast track authority and the county treasurer in creating the Missaukee County Land Bank Authority.

Garland was also slated to present the recycling infrastructure grant update, the Department Health and Human Services contract to provide legal representation for foster care; EMS delinquent accounts and collections services; a proposed policy revision as it pertains to the revenue and fee schedule; a letter of agreement for a safety coordinator; a parking lot sink hole repair; an HVAC unit replacement and a budget hearing and appropriation and resolution for fiscal year 2020.
