MARION — Marion schools Board of Education president Alicia Michell said the board took care of several items on Tuesday at its regular meeting.
“The meeting went well,” Michell said. “We approved a bid for resurfacing the track with the sports boosters pitching in $57,000. We went with the latex track.

“We approved a bid from City Glass for the replacement of windows at the high school. Both projects are using bond monies. We approved two coaching hires, Dan Michell for JV boys basketball and Shane Sluter for junior high football.”

The board approved handbooks for the elementary school and the high school.

“We approved three Parapros Jeremy Teare, Grace Robbins for the Rtc room and Misty Brittin for recess duty,” Michell said. “We approved board policy. We are anticipating more numbers for students this upcoming year.’
Michell said the board has added the pledge of allegiance to the board agenda.
