Osceola County has
begun the celebration of its
150th birthday. Roger Elkins, the county’s foremost
authority on local history, spoke to the Marion
Area Historical Society
Thursday evening. Elkins,
who appears in character
as one of Osceola’s early
explorers, Delos Blodgett,
recounted the highlights
of the county’s settlement,
early years and growth.
Elkins employed historical highlights, interesting
news tidbits and old photographs to tell Osceola’s
story. He has presented
the story to schools and
historical groups across the
county
